Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By connecting a wallet to Sol Wager ("the Service", "we", "us") you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. We may update these Terms at any time; continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.

2. Eligibility

  • You must be at least 18 years old (or the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction, whichever is higher) to use the Service.
  • You must have the legal capacity to enter contracts and use cryptocurrency where you reside.
  • You must not be a resident of, or located in, any jurisdiction where online wagering is prohibited. You are solely responsible for knowing the laws that apply to you. We do not provide legal advice.
  • Sol Wager is currently in devnet beta. No real value is exchanged on the devnet network. When (and if) we move to Solana mainnet, additional regional restrictions may apply.

3. The Service

Sol Wager is a peer-to-peer wagering platform. Players wager Solana (SOL) against other players in skill or chance-based games. The platform itself does not take the other side of any wager — we are not a counterparty to bets, only an escrow agent and game host.

Current games include:

  • Coin Fight — multiplayer last-player-standing arena game
  • Coin Flip — 1v1 heads/tails best-of-N
  • Word Fight — multiplayer competitive word guessing

The available games, rules, fees, and limits may change at any time.

4. Wallets and custody

Sol Wager creates a platform wallet on your behalf when you connect. Your platform wallet's private key is generated by the server, encrypted with AES-256-GCM using a key only we hold, and stored in our database. This means:

  • Sol Wager is a custodial service for funds in your platform wallet. Funds remain on the Solana blockchain, but we control the signing keys.
  • You can withdraw your platform wallet balance to your personal wallet at any time, subject to network fees and any active wagers in escrow.
  • We take reasonable measures to safeguard the encryption key. In the event of compromise, we may pause withdrawals while we investigate. We make no guarantee against loss due to extraordinary events.
  • We do not have access to your personal (Phantom, Solflare, etc.) wallet. Anything that wallet signs is your responsibility.

5. Deposits, wagers, and payouts

  • Deposits: minimum $10 (USD equivalent in SOL). Funds are credited after the on-chain transaction is confirmed.
  • Wager limits: per-game minimum and maximum are displayed in each lobby and may change over time.
  • Platform fee: 1% of the total pot is taken on payout. See the Fairness page for a complete breakdown.
  • Referrals: 40% of the platform fee on a referee's games is credited to their referrer.
  • Withdrawals: from your platform wallet to your connected personal wallet only. Network fees (~5,000 lamports) are deducted from the withdrawal.
  • Refunds: if a game cannot complete (server failure, you leave a lobby that hasn't started, etc.), wagers are returned to your platform balance minus the small network fee required to broadcast the refund transaction.

6. Game outcomes are final

Once a game completes and a winner is determined, the result is final. Random outcomes (e.g., Coin Flip) are generated using cryptographically secure randomness on the server; see the Fairness page. We do not adjudicate disputes about gameplay results.

7. Prohibited conduct

You agree not to:

  • Operate multiple accounts to abuse referrals, leaderboards, or matchmaking
  • Use bots, scripts, or automated tools to play games
  • Collude with other players to manipulate outcomes
  • Attempt to exploit bugs, race conditions, or unintended behavior for financial gain
  • Use the Service to launder funds or for any illegal purpose
  • Reverse engineer, scrape, or interfere with the Service's operation
  • Impersonate another person or use stolen wallet credentials

We reserve the right to suspend accounts, freeze platform balances pending investigation, and forfeit funds obtained through prohibited conduct. Where we believe funds were obtained illegally, we may report to authorities.

8. Account suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Service at our discretion, including for violation of these Terms, suspected fraud, or as required by law. Upon termination, you may withdraw any remaining platform balance, subject to (a) completion of any in-progress games, (b) any holds related to investigation, and (c) network fees.

9. Risk disclosure

Wagering involves risk of loss. You may lose any amount you wager. Specific risks include:

  • Total loss of wager on any losing game
  • SOL price volatility — your USD-equivalent balance fluctuates with the SOL market price
  • Solana network congestion or downtime affecting deposits, payouts, and withdrawals
  • Smart contract / server bugs that could result in lost funds
  • Custodial risk — the platform holds your platform wallet keys (see Section 4)

Only wager what you can afford to lose. If you feel you are wagering compulsively, stop immediately and seek help. In the US, contact the National Council on Problem Gambling at 1-800-GAMBLER.

10. No warranty

The Service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free from harmful components. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the amount in your platform wallet at the time of the claim, or $100 USD-equivalent, whichever is greater. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost data, or lost opportunities.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Sol Wager and its operators from any claim, demand, or damages arising out of (a) your use of the Service, (b) your violation of these Terms, (c) your violation of any law or rights of any third party.

13. Dispute resolution

Any dispute relating to the Service must first be raised with us via our support form. We will respond within 30 days. If unresolved, disputes will be settled by binding arbitration on an individual basis (no class actions), in a venue mutually agreed in writing.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be announced via in-app banner or via the email address on your support tickets. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.
